Who we are

DCS Group is a trading name of DCS Electrical Limited, a company registered in Ireland (company number 403322) with its registered office at Clash Industrial Estate, Tralee, Co. Kerry, V92 ET38. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean DCS Electrical Limited.

We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. If you have any question about it, or want to use any of your rights, contact Caroline Sugrue, Director:

What we collect and why

Enquiries

When you contact us through the website form, by email or by phone, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if you give it) and whatever you tell us in your message, such as details of your site or a recent bill. We use this only to reply to you and, if you ask, to prepare a proposal or quote.

Our legal basis is that you have asked us to take these steps before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.

Job applications

If you send us a CV or apply for a role, we use the details you provide to assess your application and contact you about it. Our legal basis is taking steps at your request before a possible employment contract, and our legitimate interest in recruiting. Please do not include sensitive information, such as health details, unless it is relevant to your application.

Website visits

When you visit this website, our hosting provider automatically records technical information needed to deliver the pages, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request, the date and time, and the website that referred you. We use this to run the site securely and to see overall visitor numbers, popular pages and where visitors come from. These statistics are produced from server records without cookies or tracking code, and we do not use them to identify individual visitors.

Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure website and understanding how it is used.

We do not sell personal data, we do not add enquiries to marketing or mailing lists, and we do not use automated decision-making or profiling.

Cookies

This website does not use cookies or similar technologies, so you will not see a cookie banner. Our fonts and images are served from our own website.

Our Contact page includes an optional Google map. It only loads if you click "Show map". If you do, your browser connects to Google, which receives your IP address and may set or read its own cookies under Google's privacy policy. The "Open in Google Maps" button simply takes you to Google's website.

Who we share it with

Your personal data is seen only by the members of our team who need it to deal with your enquiry or application. We also use these service providers, who process data on our behalf and under contract with us:

  • Netlify, Inc. hosts this website, receives contact form submissions and provides our visitor statistics.
  • Microsoft provides our email service (Microsoft 365), where enquiries sent to info@dcsgroup.eu are received.

We may also disclose personal data where the law requires it, for example to a regulator or the GardaĆ, or to our professional advisers where needed to protect our legal rights.

Transfers outside the EU

Netlify, Inc. is based in the United States. It is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and its data processing terms include the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, which protect your data when it is transferred.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries: 12 months from when we receive them. If you become a client, your details become part of our client records and are kept for as long as needed for that relationship and our legal obligations, such as accounting and tax.
  • Job applications: 12 months, unless you agree to us keeping your details for longer for future roles.
  • Website form submissions: we also delete these from Netlify regularly, and in any case within 12 months.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete
  • ask us to delete your data
  • ask us to restrict how we use your data
  • object to us using your data on the basis of our legitimate interests
  • ask for data you gave us in a portable format

To use any of these rights, contact Caroline Sugrue at info@dcsgroup.eu. There is no charge, and we will respond within one month. We may need to confirm your identity first.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your personal data, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission, 21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28, www.dataprotection.ie.

Security

This website is served only over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and access to enquiries and applications is limited to the people who need it.
